Deciduous

A long-lived tree. Ripe plentiful and versatile edible nuts. Delicious roasted. Can be made into flour and made into a coffee substitute. Leaves have medicinal value, e.g. for rheumatism and sore throats. Used in some shampoo ingredients. Bark often has a spirally effect to it and rich in tannins. Good coppiced wood, useful for fencing, walking sticks.
